Donald Trump’s first (and hopefully last) State of the Union address Tuesday night was long. The former reality show star’s one hour and 20 minute-long address was the third-longest State of the Union in the past 50 years. Gone are the days in which we would yell at our televisions when politicians told a lie. Now, we just sit there with our heads turned sideways and our eyes wide open. The so-called president told so many lies last night that PolitiFact’s website crashed. Trump even repeated false claims that he’s been fact-checked on before.
Still, President Liar Pants stood at the podium and clapped for himself. USA Today tried to count the number of times Trump applauded himself but lost count.
Watch a nearly 6-minute video of Trump applauding himself:
If there’s one thing Donald Trump proved at the State of the Union last night, it’s that he is an expert at clapping for himself, directly into the microphone pic.twitter.com/nKb7mQtL8m

Social media users noticed the old Dotard clapping for himself. Everyone noticed.

the isolated sound of trump clapping is how i imagine the white house sounds most evenings, just the sound of his hands slapping together echoing down empty hallways over the low din of the tv

Love the strategy of Trump clapping for himself during his own speech. I’m going to start doing this intermittently when placing fast food orders at drive through windows.

Everyone is clapping every time Trump finishes a coherent sentence, we do agree, it’s impressive for Trump

Trump, clapping so loudly at your own lines into your own mic still won’t make daddy love you #SOTU

Trump claps like he’s trying to get everyone to do it with him in rhythm #SOTU

The way Trump’s clapping for himself reminds me of the people that spin on Wheel of Fortune. #SOTU
