Donald Trump has flown completely off the handle this time. It’s not enough that he pollutes our lives with his horribly racist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, everythingphobic hate speech, now he is demanding money to appear at a debate.
During a campaign rally in Georgia, Trump made the outrageous money-to-debate comment:
“How about I tell CNN, who doesn’t treat me properly … I’m not gonna do the next debate, OK? I won’t do the debate unless they pay me $5 million, all of which goes to Wounded Warriors or goes to vets.”
First of all, we are so sick and tired of hearing that people do not treat this idiot “well.” In order to receive respect, one must give respect and Trump is clearly incapable of respecting anyone. He has made horrible comments about women, African-Americans, Muslims, Latinos, and everyone else who he doesn’t feel is “worthy.” He lashes out more than my two-year-old godson when he doesn’t get his afternoon nap.
Furthermore, his promise to give the money to the Wounded Warrior Foundation and veterans is incredibly transparent. Earlier this summer, he said that John McCain wasn’t a good military member because he was “captured” and made a prisoner of war. He has already let the world know how little respect he has for the men and women who serve this country, and trying to extort CNN out of millions of dollars isn’t going to erase that comment from America’s memory.
However, this might not even be the worst of it. According to Rachel Maddow, Trump was at a fundraising event in September on the USS Iowa for a group called Veterans for a Strong America which is linked to a man named Joel Arends. Trump’s campaign said that he would make a “major foreign policy address,” but Maddow said:
“There was no foreign policy in it at all and it frankly wasn’t even that much of a speech. What it was, was a fundraiser. A fundraiser for a group called Veterans for a Strong America.”
In fact, the entirety of the organization is truly “just a guy named Joel from South Dakota,” Maddow pointed out in September. When CNN investigated the group, they discovered that Veterans for a Strong America had lost their tax-exempt status with the IRS. Further, although the group claims to be 500,000 members strong “outside of Arends, CNN has found it difficult to find anyone with a direct link to the group.”
It sounds like Veterans for a Strong America is as big a fraud as Trump and one has to wonder if “The Donald” had any intention of giving the money he wants to extort from CNN to actual veterans, or if he’s going to give it to his buddy and his buddy’s fake group.
Watch Maddow rip him apart:
