God Emperor Donald Trump announced on Twitter this morning that there is “no longer” a nuclear threat from North Korea because he met with the nation’s dictator for a little over 30 minutes. Problem solved! The former reality show star also said that “our country’s biggest enemy is the Fake News.”
But apparently, Canada is a big threat, too, according to Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The “most common threat to U.S. public safety along the northern border continues to be the bidirectional flow of illicit drugs,” the newly released Northern Border Threat Analysis Report states.
This comes just after Trump lashed out at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for daring to criticize him — after the former reality show star launched a trade war — so this is all a childish retaliatory act on Trump’s part and one that insults our ally up North.
DHS stated that its new strategy “establishes a clear vision and concrete actions that will improve DHS’s efforts to safeguard our northern border against terrorist and criminal threats, facilitate the safe and efficient flow of lawful cross-border trade and travel and strengthen cross-border critical infrastructure protection and community resilience.”
While it’s true that there was a time that the best weed came from Canada, legalizing it here in states such as Washington, Oregon, and California, slowed down illicit marijuana trafficking by legalizing it in those states. Even Mexican drug cartels are being crippled with violent crime falling by 13% on average when a state on the Mexican border legalized medical use of the drug.
Fewer than 800 people have illegally crossed from Canada into the U.S. annually over the past five years, and yet Trump almost seems ready to build a wall and make Canada pay for it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Trump took to Twitter to attack Trudeau, calling him “meek and mild” after a turbulent G-7 summit in Quebec. It was quite the spectacle. The thin-skinned president* just cannot handle criticism and will ostracize our allies while isolating us from the rest of the world. Meanwhile, Trump gave in to North Korea’s brutal dictator while getting nothing in return. It’s almost as if he does this on purpose.
